I was born in 1944 and grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida.
I have been interested in creating art all my life. My inspiration comes from personal experiences, natural elements, fashion, found objects, and glittery things—usually infused with a dose of fantasy and dreaminess.
I studied art at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, and received my BA at Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida.
For a time, I ran my own art gallery in downtown Sarasota, Florida, where I sold my own art as well as my own printed t-shirt designs.
While I was in New York, I was commissioned to design a poster for the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts which is still for sale in their gift shop.
Most people, who know me, associate me with my picture of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall rendered in Coquina shells. This work, commissioned by the Van Wezel board of directors, was rejected as being too fanciful.
I worked at the Vermon Kimbrough Library of Ringling College of Art and Design for some 25 years in the visual resources department. While there, I displayed my art in various library and staff art shows.
My work is also in many private collections.
I am retired now and continue to reside in Sarasota where I love the beaches, the clouds and, of course, the sunsets.
